A wallet on a slot stool at 3 a.m. The guest flew home at noon.
Casino lost and found software gives security a photographed, dated record of every wallet, ID, phone and piece of jewellery found on the floor, and gives guests a private way to claim it, with ownership checked against details only they would know before anything leaves the building.
With vFound, officers log items on any device, keep sensitive photos private, and every claim decision and handover is recorded with the name of the person who made it.
Why casino lost property needs a stricter process
A casino never closes. Security officers find or receive items across every shift: wallets and IDs on slot stools, phones at table games, rewards cards, jewellery, glasses, jackets and hotel room keys. Many items are valuable, and many guests are visiting from out of town and will not be back soon.
A handwritten log varies by officer and by shift. Descriptions are thin, the detail about where the item was found lives in one person’s memory, and a confident caller can wear down a busy desk. The risk is not only a lost return; it is releasing a valuable item to the wrong person.
How security teams use vFound
Officers log each item in the browser on a phone, tablet or podium computer, with nothing to install. Each record holds a title, category, where it was found, where it is stored, the found date and tags.
- Record the exact spot, such as a slot bank or table, and the secure storage location, so any shift can find the item.
- Use tags for your own references, such as a shift or an internal report number.
- Publish a generic listing (“wallet found on the main floor”) with the photo kept private to staff.
- On Pro, every officer has their own login, so the item’s history shows who logged it, who reviewed the claim and who released it.
Verification before anything is released
Claims collect private identifying details through category-specific verification questions: the contents of a wallet, a phone’s lock screen, an engraving inside a ring. Claimants can attach proof photos. Your team compares the answers against the item and the private photos, then accepts or declines.
vFound keeps the record; your own procedures decide the rest, including how identity is checked at pickup and how found cash or chips are handled. If those go through a separate process, vFound can still record the wallet or bag they were found in.
What guests experience
A guest who has gone home searches your property’s branded page, or reports what they lost and gets one email if a matching item is logged later. The claim takes a few minutes on a phone, with no account and no app. Pickup or shipment is agreed in a private conversation by email, with status updates such as ready for pickup, shipped and returned.
Frequently asked questions
Will guests see photos of IDs and wallets?+
Only if you choose to publish them. Every item can be published with or without its photo, so an ID or wallet can be listed generically while the photo stays with staff for verification.
Can we see who logged, released or declined an item?+
Yes. On Pro, every team member has their own login, and each item carries a full history of who did what, from logging to the claim decision to the final handover.
Does vFound meet gaming regulations?+
vFound does not claim approval under any gaming rules. It gives you a dated, attributed record of found property, claims and returns, with CSV export on both plans. Check your own requirements with the people responsible for them at your property.
Does it work around the clock across shifts?+
Yes. It runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, so every shift works from the same record, and guests can search published items and submit claims at any hour.
How long should we hold found items?+
That is your policy to set. Each venue sets a holding period, and expiring items are surfaced in the workspace before they lapse, so disposal or retention is a reviewed decision on the record.
